- The connector is read-only by design. Reevo requests only read permissions from PostHog, so Ask Reevo can never create, edit, or delete anything there: no toggling flags, no editing insights, no changes of any kind.
- The connection is personal. Ask Reevo queries PostHog as you and sees only the projects and data your own PostHog account can see.
- Because nothing is ever written, PostHog requests never show an approval card; they run like any other read.
- An organization admin enables the connector once for the whole organization; each person then connects their own PostHog account.
US Cloud only. The connector works with PostHog Cloud US (app.posthog.com). PostHog Cloud EU and self-hosted PostHog instances are not supported.
Availability. MCP connectors are rolling out gradually to help us maintain the best possible experience for you. If you don’t see MCP connectors under Settings, your organization may not have access yet; contact your Reevo representative or email support@reevo.ai.
Connect PostHog to Ask Reevo
Enable the connector (admins)
An organization admin must enable the connector before anyone can connect:- In Reevo, open the Organization tab of Settings → Ask Reevo → MCP connectors.
- Turn on the toggle on the PostHog (US) card.
Connect your PostHog account
- Open the User tab of Settings → Ask Reevo → MCP connectors.
- Click Connect on the PostHog (US) card. Your browser is redirected to PostHog.
- Sign in to PostHog and approve the authorization request. PostHog’s consent screen lists each read permission being granted.
- You return to Reevo, and the PostHog card shows a Connected badge.
Use the PostHog connector
Once connected, ask product and usage questions in any Ask Reevo conversation. Examples:- “How many weekly active users did we have last week versus the week before?”
- “What’s our signup-to-activation funnel conversion, and where do users drop off?”
- “Is the new-onboarding feature flag rolled out to this customer’s account?”
- “Which product errors are hitting the most users right now?”
- “Pull the retention curve for accounts that signed up in the last 30 days.”
- “Run a query for the top 10 events by volume this month.”
What Ask Reevo can read in PostHog
Everything below is read-only; no approval card is ever shown:- Product analytics: trends, funnels, retention, user paths, lifecycle, and stickiness, including the individual users behind a data point.
- Insights and dashboards: list, open, and run saved insights and dashboards to get their current numbers.
- Feature flags: definitions, rollout status, per-user evaluation (including why a flag evaluates a certain way for a specific user), dependencies, and change history.
- Experiments: A/B test details, results, and day-by-day metrics.
- People and cohorts: look up people by email or ID, their properties, and cohort membership.
- Error tracking: the most impactful issues, affected-user counts, and sample stack traces.
- Session replays: recording metadata such as duration, activity counts, and the person involved (the video itself cannot be played back in chat).
- Surveys, logs, and LLM traces: survey response stats, application logs, and AI observability traces.
- Web analytics: visitor, pageview, and conversion digests.
- Ad-hoc queries: SQL/HogQL queries against your events and persons data.
Permissions and data access
PostHog access is granted through OAuth: you sign in on PostHog’s own consent screen, which lists each permission being requested. No API keys are created or pasted.- Every requested permission is a read permission (such as
insight:read,feature_flag:read, andquery:read). Reevo requests no write permissions, so the connection is technically incapable of modifying your PostHog data, even if you ask it to. - Ask Reevo queries PostHog as your user, so it sees only the organizations and projects your own PostHog account can access.
Disconnect and reconnect
To disconnect, open Settings → Ask Reevo → MCP connectors, find the PostHog (US) card, open the three-dot menu next to the Connected badge, and select Disconnect. When you disconnect, Reevo removes the connection’s stored sign-in tokens and, where PostHog supports it, also revokes Reevo’s access on PostHog’s side. Ask Reevo can no longer reach your PostHog account until you reconnect. If a connection stops working (for example, the authorization expired or was revoked in PostHog), Ask Reevo shows a reconnect card in the chat, and the PostHog (US) card on the MCP connectors page shows Reconnect instead of Connect. Click Reconnect and complete the PostHog sign-in to restore the connection; your admin does not need to re-enable anything.Data and privacy
- Ask Reevo runs PostHog queries when it needs them to answer you; it does not run background syncs of your PostHog data.
- Reevo stores the connection’s sign-in tokens so you don’t have to re-authorize on every request.
- Query results that appear in a conversation become part of that chat, like any other chat content.
- You can disconnect the connector at any time from the MCP connectors page.
The Reevo Privacy Policy and Terms of Service govern how Reevo collects, uses, and retains data, including data accessed through connectors.

Can Ask Reevo turn a feature flag on or off, or edit a dashboard?
No. The connector holds read-only permissions, so it cannot change anything in PostHog. It can tell you a flag’s current state and history, but flipping the flag has to happen in PostHog itself.
