This guide will help you understand how user roles and permissions work within the app, particularly the USER and ADMIN roles, ensuring you and your team can collaborate efficiently and securely.
Reevo uses a role-based access system to control what users can see and do:
Admin: Full access to all data and settings. Can invite users, assign roles, and edit any record.
Regular User: Limited access. By default, cannot edit contacts, accounts, or opportunities unless granted access by an admin.
There are two types of access a user can have:
Edit Access: Users can edit a record if they are an admin, the owner, or listed as a participant. Having edit access means the user will be able to edit fields of an object, mark tasks as completed, etc.
View Access: All users and admins can view records.
Contacts, Accounts, and OpportunitiesIf you have edit access, you can click into any editable field in the row to make changes.Example of non-editable rows:Example of editable row:Users with edit access can:
Edit detail fields and custom fields
Change stage selectors
Merge or archive records
Use the New button to add related records
Tasks TabIf you have edit access, you can mark tasks as complete, edit, or delete them. All users can comment.Emails TabIf you have edit access, you can reply to emails.
To invite a new user, click the ‘Invite User’ button on the top right and fill out the form, specifying the desired role for the user.
To change the role of an existing user, click the ‘…’ button on the right of a user row and select ‘Change Role’.
Granting Edit Access
By default, Admins will have edit access for all records and objects. Users, on the other hand, must be the owner of the record OR be on the record/object’s participant list.
To provide a user edit access to an object, go to it’s corresponding detail pagea. for contacts, accounts, and opportunities:b. for tasks:
Set the user as the owner or add the user to the participants list. This will give the user edit access to this specific record.Note: providing edit access of a record to a user will not give them edit access to the related contacts and opportunities. An admin will have to add the user to the participant list of the individual contact/opportunity records.
