Overview
If you’ve purchased a domain from a third-party provider and want to use it to send emails from Reevo Sequences, you’re in the right place. This process allows you to bring your own domain under Reevo’s control so we can manage the DNS records needed for email sending. You’re not transferring ownership of the domain—just the DNS settings. Once complete, we’ll be able to authenticate emails sent from this domain on your behalf. Important: Bringing a domain into Reevo will disable any existing services (like websites or email accounts) associated with that domain. You are responsible for cancelling any of those services to avoid additional charges. Reevo cannot do that for you.Basic concepts & terminology
- Domain Registrar – The company where you purchased and manage your domain (e.g. GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains).
- DNS Name Servers – These servers manage the DNS records for your domain, including the ones used to authenticate email.
- DNS Records – Instructions that tell the internet how to route email and web traffic for your domain (e.g. MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and CNAME records).
Where to find it
Bringing your own domain is not currently a self-serve action within the app. To initiate this setup, contact your Reevo onboarding specialist or support representative. How to Transfer DNS Control to Reevo
- Let us know you want to bring your own domain. Reach out to your Reevo point of contact to initiate the setup.
- Confirm you’re not using the domain elsewhere. We’ll double-check that there are no active services (e.g. website or business email) on the domain. Once DNS is transferred, those services will stop working.
-
Update your domain’s name servers.
Log into your domain registrar and update your domain’s name servers to the following:
- Notify us once that’s done. Let us know after you’ve made the changes so we can begin configuring your domain for use with Reevo Sequences.
- We’ll handle the rest. Once the setup is complete, we’ll confirm everything is ready to go and your domain is connected.
