Overview

Every contact in Reevo has two fields that describe where it stands, and each answers a different question: The two fields are independent. Changing a contact’s Status never changes its Stage, and changing its Stage never changes its Status. This lets a rep manage their own outreach without moving the contact through the funnel, and lets marketing report on funnel conversion without depending on how each rep logs their work. For example, an inbound form-fill can land a contact in the Marketing Qualified Lead stage with a Status of Hand Raise / Warm. The rep sees the hand raise, prioritizes the contact, and moves its Status to Working and then Meeting Booked. Meanwhile, marketing tracks the same contact as it moves from Marketing Qualified Lead to Sales Accepted Lead to Sales Qualified Lead.
Status applies to contacts only. Accounts and opportunities use their own stages. See Account & Contact Stages.

Default Status values

Reevo comes with these Status values. Admins can rename, recolor, reorder, add, or deactivate them. A contact has exactly one Status at a time. When a contact is created without a Status, Reevo gives it your organization’s default Status (Untouched unless your admin chooses another default).

How Status compares to the default Stages

New organizations also start with these contact Stages, which describe the funnel rather than rep activity: New Lead, Marketing Qualified Lead, Sales Accepted Lead, Sales Qualified Lead, Customer, and Lost. If your organization already had contact stages set up, Reevo keeps them.

Configure Status values

Admin access is required to change Status values.
  1. Go to Settings → Contacts.
  2. Select the Fields tab.
  3. Find the Status field and open it to edit its list options.
From the list options you can:
  • Add an option: enter a name for the new Status.
  • Rename an option: edit its name.
  • Reorder options: drag them into the order your team works in.
  • Pick a color: choose one of the available colors so each Status is easy to spot.
  • Set as default: choose which Status new contacts receive.
  • Deactivate an option: retire a Status your team no longer uses. You can remap contacts on that Status to another one, and reactivate the option later.
Keep the list short and tied to actions a rep takes. Status works best when every value tells the rep what to do next.

Where Status appears

  • Contact record page: a Status badge sits next to the Stage badge at the top of the record. Hover over either badge to see what it’s for.
  • Contact quick overview: the same Status badge appears in the contact’s quick overview panel.
  • AskReevo: ask AskReevo about a contact’s Status, find contacts by Status, or ask it to set a contact’s Status (for example, “Set Jordan’s status to Meeting Booked”).
  • Workflows: use Status in conditions for Contact Created and Contact Updated triggers, and set it with contact update actions.
  • CSV import: map a Status column to the contact’s Status. Reevo matches each value by its name.
Status doesn’t sync with Salesforce or HubSpot, and it isn’t available in reports yet.

Automate Status and lifecycle moves

Reevo includes ready-made rules that keep Status, and the account stage, up to date as your team works. An admin turns them on from each object’s Automations tab.

Contact status rules

Go to Settings → Contacts and select the Automations tab.

Account lifecycle rules driven by Status

Go to Settings → Accounts and select the Automations tab. Each rule has a set of starting stages, so it only moves an account forward from the stages you choose and never undoes another rule. Use Edit rules to pick different statuses or stages, Reset to defaults to go back to the out-of-the-box settings, or Customize in Workflows to build on a rule in the Workflow Builder. For more lifecycle automation patterns, see Automating Lifecycle Stage Moves.

Troubleshooting / FAQs

Stage is the contact’s position in your funnel (for example, Marketing Qualified Lead or Customer), owned by marketing and ops. Status is the rep’s engagement with the contact (for example, Working or Meeting Booked). They’re separate fields, and changing one never changes the other.
Update Status. Status tracks your outreach, such as moving from Untouched to Working. Stage changes when the contact moves through the funnel, which your team’s lifecycle process or workflows usually handle.
Untouched is the default Status. Contacts that existed before Status was introduced, and new contacts created without a Status, start as Untouched until a rep, AskReevo, an import, or an automation changes it.
Yes. An admin can choose a different default under Settings → Contacts → Fields by opening the Status field and using Set as default on another option.
Only if your admin has turned on the Contact hand raise or Contact worked rules on the Accounts Automations tab. Without them, Status changes don’t affect any other record.
No. Status is stored in Reevo only.
